BUILT FOR PEOPLE WHO CARRY RESPONSIBILITY01 / WHAT WE TEACH
Under Load translates psychology, physiology, decision-making research, and fire-service experience into practical tools for people who operate under pressure.
Recognize changes in attention, working memory, and performance when the demands increase.
Understand arousal and practice deliberate pacing, breathing, and recovery habits.
Separate what you know from what you assume. Reassess when the picture changes.
Set clear standards, distribute responsibility, and develop people who can act with purpose.
Recognize cumulative load, protect recovery, and support useful peer conversations and help-seeking.
Build trust and accountability through clear priorities, specific assignments, and shared understanding.
02 / COURSES & TRAINING
Real decision points. Purposeful discussion. Behaviors you can bring back to your crew.
What happens to attention, memory, physiology, communication, and decision-making when the load rises? Learn to recognize common failure patterns and practice behaviors that preserve usable capacity.
For firefighters, EMS personnel, company officers, instructors, and other high-consequence teams.

Standards, trust, delegation, accountability, and developing a team that can act when the leader cannot carry every task.

03 / THE UNDER LOAD APPROACH
Attention, stress response, and physical state influence one another. Training should account for those connections.
Explore each part of the system.
Attention, interpretation, decision-making, and working memory. Practice separating observations from assumptions, and checking what does not fit.
04 / WHY THIS MATTERS
Pressure can affect attention, working memory, and cognitive flexibility before a person recognizes the change in their own performance. The effects vary with the person, task, and timing.
Under Load uses usable bandwidth as a practical teaching frame: what can this person or crew notice, hold in mind, communicate, and act on right now?
Keep the standard clear. Train the behaviors that help people meet it.

CORPORATE TEAM DEVELOPMENT · PROGRAM CONCEPT
SIX HOURS · TAILORED TO YOUR TEAM
See how your team functions when the time available is no longer negotiable.
A tailored, six-hour experience for senior leaders and high-performing corporate teams. Realistic, hands-on fire-service scenarios in a controlled training environment make task execution, delegation, and communication visible under pressure.
Assess how the team sets priorities, assigns ownership, coordinates dependent tasks, and executes when deadlines cannot move.
Observe how direction travels down, concerns and updates travel up, and information moves across the team. Identify where clarity, acknowledgment, or escalation breaks down.
Intensive, facilitated after-action reviews examine what happened, why it happened, and what to change. Connect observed behavior to specific communication and execution practices back at work.
Scenarios and review questions are tailored to your team’s roles, operating pressures, and development goals.
Proposed delivery in partnership with the Working Truck Company cadre. Final program and availability are subject to confirmation.
